Happy helpers

The boys love to help cook. I try to give them things to do, because they love to help, but I'm usually in a hurry.. trying to get dinner ready for Kyle by the time he gets home. So here they are helping.. or they thought so anyway. I gave them each a potato and told them to peal away. They had so much fun, and stayed out of my way. It was a win win for us all. Why did it take so long to think of it?!?!

Here is Mr. Joel helping his Papa lay our new floors. He thought he was a big helper. It was too cute. You needed all that help, right dad?

We celebrated Kyle's birthday last Friday. I guess you can see here he got Muppets for his birthday. We're kinda' fans of the Muppets around here!

Here is THE collection!

Hockey game

Kyle took Johnny to his very first STARS game. Thanks to Chris for the tickets! Kyle just emailed this picture and it's so cute. Johnny has the biggest smile on his face. Kyle says they're having a great time. Johnny now wants a hockey cake for his birthday. I can't wait for them to get home and tell me all about it!

I ripped out the rest of the carpet yesterday and today, and the floors are now ready for the laminate flooring!! YIPPIE!! I'm so excited. My dad is coming over after church to help. I'll post pictures when they're done.. hopefully tomorrow!!

Til' then.. have a good one!

Cabin Fever

My sweet little darlin', Justin has gone crazy on me. He has been sick since Saturday, but he's finally doing better today. I never have to tell him to do any thing more than once.. ha, well- that's not the case today. This little monster has done something with my sweet and thoughtful little Justin. Well, not really.. he's still sweet!! But, he can't mind for the life of him. He wants to get out of the house so bad. I keep telling him it cold out, and the little stinker tells me, "No- it's not cold, Mom. " He takes his pj's off and said, "See mom, I not cold." I would stick him out side in his undies if he had not been so sick the past few days. All I can say is come on nap time!

Here's my dilemma, do I let him go to church tonight? He's going to be really mad when I let Johnny go and not him. He's feeling better, no fever for two days, but he still has this really nasty cough and runny nose. I don't think I would appreciate another kid coming around my kiddos like that. Hmm.. I guess I've just answered my own question.

Speaking of sweet... Kyle and I went shopping for our new floors a couple of weeks ago, and Johnny saw this guy (who looked homeless) and said, "Momma, can I have a dollar to give that guy." I looked at him with my eyes wide open, and couldn't believe what I was hearing. My first thought was no way, but God speaks to us through our hearts. And- for some reason Johnny felt the need to give that guy money. I sure wish I would have had a dollar on me. I was so proud of him. Maybe he will have the gift of discernment.

And- I was just kidding about freezing Justin! Although, if I could keep my little munchkins this little forever (right where they're at), I just might freeze them. These have to be the best days of our lives.. right here. Every year seems to keep getting better and easier! I can't wait to see where God leads us in the future!

Busy weekend

There is always so much to be done and not enough time. We started pulling the carpet out of the living room. We got about 3/4 of it done. We pulled everything to one side of the room, cut the carpet down the middle, and put laminate floor down. Thanks dad for all of your help! We'll do the other half next weekend. Then, the computer room is next! Whoo whoo! I hate carpet.. will never have it again. I can't stand my floors being dirty. I'm really a freak when it comes to keeping them clean, huh Kyle?? He gets in trouble all the time for not cleaning his feet. He loves me though! We hope to finish up this weekend. I'll post pictures when we're done.

You know...we should get a buy one get one free pass to the Dr office. I had to take Justin yesterday. Poor little, sweet Justin. He had a really high fever, and looked scary sick. I'm not one to run to the Dr office every time my kids have fever, but I was really worried he would have pneumonia again this year, and- we didn't want to end up in the emergency room again! He started feeling better right before bedtime...figures! He got up and wanted something to eat and drink. And- of course, he wanted cartoons! My little TV addict! Kyle and I had to dance with him to the Backyardigans, over and over. He kept saying, "One more time!" I finally had to make him get in bed about one this morning. I just might take a nap with my little men today.

Hope you had a good weekend, and have a great week!

Shorts in January??

Although it's really cold out right now, the last couple of days were beautiful! And since we've all been sick since before the Christmas break, we couldn't pass it up; we had to go out and jump on the "jumpoline" and plant a couple of trees. Yes- it's a jumpoline to Johnny, and now Justin says it too. We had a blast playing on it with them. Kyle could almost touch the ground...haha Just kidding, Kyle. ;) They also rode all over on their Gator and Hummer. Thank you Deanne for the Hummer! Kyle had to follow them around on the golf cart. Justin almost ran his into the water. YIKES!

We've had so much fun these past couple of weeks, especially with Kyle home! I'm really sad things are going back to normal tomorrow. Johnny goes back to school, and Kyle to work. Poor me.. do you feel sorry for me?? Haha He's only had about 2 weeks off.

Justin's little personality is really starting to show now. Everyone seems to have a special place in their heart for this kid because he's the sweetest little guy! He absolutely loves his brothers. He is the best at sharing...most of the time. If it's something he really wants, then watch out!! He's such a hoot. Johnny and I were trying to take a picture here and Justin came and jumped in this one right at the last second. He loves having his picture taken so he can see it after.

Here we are planting trees Berny gave me after Papa Ed past away. They're in memory of him trees. Thank you, Berny! The boys had fun digging in the dirt and stomping on the soil. Joel watered them for us...and in big boys undies! He's not quit ready for potty training, but close. He goes in the potty before bath time, and he's telling me when he needs a new diaper!! I figured he could wear undies while we're outside...save money on diapers. Then, he tee-teed in Mama Jeans floor...sorry Mama Jean.
